18 Gauge Steel Caskets are made of thicker metal than 20 Gauge and allow for more options in shaping the casket shell. They allow for more diversity in design and colors than the thinner steel counterparts. In steel, the lower the gauge number the thicker the steel that is used. 18 Gauge is about .05 inch thick.
